What is Darjeeling?

Darjeeling tea is grown in the dramatic mountainous terrain of northeastern India, at the foot of the Himalayas. Due to its altitude, soil and climate, Darjeeling is considered one of the world’s most refined teas – often referred to as the “champagne of teas”. First Flush refers to the very first harvest after the winter dormancy, which occurs in early spring. These teas are the most delicate, complex and sought after.

About Thurbo Estate

Thurbo is one of the well-known and respected tea plantations in the Darjeeling district. Situated in the Mirik Valley, between the Mechi and Rangbhang rivers, Thurbo has a unique location that gives the tea a unique flavor signature. The plantation is located high above sea level and is known for producing highly aromatic and elegant first flush teas.
